My story so far…

Helloooo my name is Jerry!

I came into the sanctuary in May after I was found and taken to a nearby vets as a poorly stray, entire and not chipped. I was cared for at the vets first before they reached out to the sanctuary to take me and eventually find me a home. I had a few mild cat flu symptoms and a wound on my tail which I was treated for before arriving at the sanctuary. I am a big and strong healthy boy now. The humans do not know anything about my history due to me being a stray.

What they have learnt about me is that I have a HUGE personality and I am mixture of naughty and nice! Mostly nice though! I do think I am quite a handsome boy too and get sooo much attention for my cute looks. I am a very friendly loving boy and do love human affection and attention. I do enjoy rubbing around my carers legs and giving face rubs too.

I can be a little bit temperamental at times and I do occassionally show boisterous play aggression type behaviours (grabbing arms with my paws and biting). My carers provide me with lots of stimulation /enrichment to keep me occupied and stimulated which is what I really need to keep me from showing under stimulated behaviours (interactive and teaser toys, one on one play sessions, puzzle feeders, environmental enrichment). I am a very clever boy and very food motivated so my carer has done a bit of training with me too. I could learn so much more!

I am now ready to find my loving forever home. Could you be my new humans?

Home I am looking for…

I am looking for an adult only home with experienced cat owners.

I am currently residing in the big cat room with an outdoor run area here at the sanctuary so have not mixed with any other cats whilst here. Due to this it is unknown if I am good around other cats so for now I am looking for a home as a solo cat!

I have however met a few dogs and I am very brave around them so could easily adapt to living with a calm cat friendly dog.

I do need to be able to have safe outdoor access after a settling in period of at least 6-8 weeks indoors. This is to make sure I am settled in my home and bonded with my new humans before being allowed out into the big world! My main carer does think I am going to be quite testing whilst being kept indoors but it is so important you ignore me if I ask to go out sooner than I should because I could go missing or get lost easily! I am also very good at opening doors myself so you need to keep doors locked and make sure I cannot escape out of any windows because If theres a way then I will try!!

I will need my new home to be well away from any main/busy roads and railway lines for my own safety.

Road/environmental checks apply.

Medical history…

I had mild cat flu symtoms when I was found (sneezing, weepy eyes). This was treated at the vets I was at before coming to the sanctuary. My symptoms cleared up within a few days.

I had an inury on my tail most likely from another cat whilst I was straying. I had antibiotics for any infection and the wound cleared up and healed well.

I have no health concerns.

If you think you could offer me the home I need, please fill out an Adoption Enquiry Form. Please make sure you have read about all of my needs and our adoption policies before applying.

Forms lacking in detail or with questions unanswered may not be considered, we need to ensure we are matching our cats to the right home for them.
