My story so far…
Helloooo my name is Cherry
I came into the sanctuary in October after I was found on the streets hanging around a pub. I was not chipped or neutered and only about 5 months old at the time so way too young to be outside and not too mention at risk of getting pregnant! I also had fleas and a belly full of worms! I most likely had an owner at some point but have possibly either strayed or been abandoned.
My carer suspects I may have had a bad experience with humans before coming in because I have shown I can at times be a little sensitive and slightly hesitant and wary to initially approach people sometimes. It doesn’t take me too long before warming up to someone new though once I feel comfortable as I am not shy. I am friendly and sweet. I love affection and enjoy cuddles! I have a big purr to show you how much I enjoy it!
I am a typical playful kitten and love to play with my toys but I also enjoy zoomies, a good run around and play.
Home I am looking for…
I can live with sensible older children 10+ years old. Of course children must be taught to be respectful and gentle around animals. My new family must have plenty of time for me.
I have mixed with a few of the slightly younger kittens here at the sanctuary and although I was unsure at first, It didn’t take me long to want to play with them. Although I made it very clear I am boss! I like my own space too so it is all on my terms if I want to play with another cat. I would not tolerate a boisterous, over playful cat well because I can be quite sensitive. I would be happy to live with another cat friendly cat or two but would equally enjoy being an only cat.
I could live with a cat friendly dog with slow introductions as long as they will respect my space (Any cats or dogs in the home must be neutered and fully vaccinated and proof will be required).
I would be fine as a strictly indoor cat with no outdoor access as long as I have lots of space in a home. I must also have lots of human attention and enrichment such as toys and cat furniture though to keep me occupied. I could be homed to be allowed safe outdoor access too. If so I will need my new home to be well away from any main/busy roads and railway lines for my own safety. I would also need to be kept indoors for at least 8 weeks before being allowed outdoors to allow me time to settle and bond with my new humans.
Home and Road/environmental checks apply.
If your adoption application is successful the carer will contact you to further discuss our adoption process. Please note- to ensure suitability we do our rehoming checks before we can arrange any meets here at the sanctuary.
Medical history…
I am a healthy girl and have no current health concerns.
Diet…
I am on wet and dry kitten food. I have scrumbles kitten dry food and whiskas kitten wet food (It is advisable to feed a good quality diet and avoid cheaper dry foods full of grains and cereals).
If you think you could offer me the home I need, please fill out an Adoption Enquiry Form. Please make sure you have read about all of my needs and our adoption policies before applying.
Forms lacking in detail or with questions unanswered may not be considered, we need to ensure we are matching our cats to the right home for them.
