Our story so far…
Hello, we are Mary and Josephine.
A member of the public found us on a road near to the sanctuary, in an airtight container. We were brought straight to the sanctuary. This was Christmas 2022.
Our carers say that we are lovely gentle rabbits. We are easy to handle and enjoy a fuss from anyone that wants to give us attention. We love to dig and chew on cardboard boxes. We love sanctuary life as we are free to display all of our natural behaviours, knowing that we are safe from harm.
We are looking for a home together, where we get lots of human affection. We would prefer to live outdoors, but would be considered for an indoor home.
We need plenty of space to hop around and display our natural behaviours.
Now we live in Bramble Cottage we get the choice to go indoors or outdoors. We love the choice. Our carers often find us sitting outside on a cool evening breathing in the fresh air and listening to the natural noises around us. We have both definitely become more confident living in our new house, and our breathing problems have improved due to exrtra access to the outdoor environment.
Josephine: I have a breathing problem, most likely linked to one of the strains of pasteurella. My carers will nebulise me as and when required, which helps to keep me comfortable and helps me breathe more easily on days that I need the exrtra help.
When I was neutered the vet found that I had a uterine tumour. The vet removed that and we are hoping it will not return.
I will need closely monitoring due to my breathing problem and the removal of the tumour. My carers can speak to you about this in more detail.
Mary: I have a respiratory condition. I need to have a nebuliser as and when required. My carers can speak to you in more detail about my respiratory problem.
We need to live together.
We can live with children 8 plus years.
We need to be rehomed together as we are a very close bonded pair of rabbits.
We could live with older children that are 12+
