Our story so far…

Hi, we are Fudge and Caramel. We were part of a trio of rabbits, but sadly our wonderful friend Toffee sadly passed away suddenly.  Toffee was originally from the Sanctuary in 2018. He was adopted with another rabbit who sadly passed away. Shortly after, Toffee was bonded with us two lovely rabbits.  We were a very happy trio for many years in our home, but unfortunately due to a change in our guardians’ circumstances, we had to be handed over to the Sanctuary. We are now looking for our perfect forever home together.

In our previous home we were involved in short sessions of Animal Assisted Therapy, in a care home. We did tend to be a little bit nervous and skittish with handling, but as long as our feet were on the ground we were curious, and would hop over and see what was going on.  We happily accepted food from the residents but were a little more reluctant to accept fuss.

In between leaving the care home and coming into the Sanctuary, we were in a temporary foster home for a short time.  In the foster home we became more and more confident every day.  This helped when we moved to the Sanctuary as we were more confident with human interaction.

When Toffee passed away our carers kept a close eye on us, making sure we were not too upset with the loss of our friend. Although we were very fond of our friend Toffee we are keeping active and eating well. Thankfully we have each other which has definitely helped us cope.

We have a great appetite and love to eat our pellets, vegetables and plenty of hay daily. We enjoy lots of extra enrichment to keep us entertained and this helps us display our natural behaviours.  We love tunnels and platforms and anything else that stimulates us mentally and physically. Fudge & Caramel love to gnaw on cardboard. They also love to dig, so would love a dig box or something similar in their new home.

Fudge:  I am having treatment for blocked tear ducts at the moment. My vet is trying to come up with a solution to my problem. Please speak to one of my carers for more information.

We need to be rehomed together as we are a very close bonded pair of rabbits.

We could live with children 6+

For more information please contact the sanctuary and we can give you more details about Caramel and Fudge, and the type of home that they require.
