I’m Bob!
I came to the sanctuary in 2023, at the very young age of 11, after my previous owners were moving house and unable to provide me with the time or care that I needed.
I had quite the lengthy bite history before coming here, so my carers knew it would be difficult to find a new home and after a few meets with prospective fosters, the decision was made that I post up in my kennel!
I’ve also been known to take control of the whole sofa before!
I have always been considered a more difficult boy, I have had a few homes before making it here, in my youth I used to hide behind cushions and get angry when my human moved them!
I have my fair share of health issues that can make some things uncomfortable, so my carers have to make sure that I’m happy before they try any work with me!
I really don’t like having my hair cut so the vets tend to do my trims while I am sedated to avoid me hurting them or myself!
As you can see from my profile, I’ve tried a few looks in my time here, ranging from the stylish bed head, to the short cut coat for the summer.
I have had issues with my spine ever since I was even tinier, it can make me uncomfortable at times and as an older dog I can struggle with arthritis too..
In October 2023, my carers noticed gunk building up around my eyes, and took me to the vet to have a serious analysis, it turned out to be an ulcer, which needs daily eye ointment and lubricant to keep me comfortable.
I absolutely LOVE toys! Especially when they’re not mine; my carers call it “stealing”, I prefer the term “rescuing” because the other dogs don’t know how to play with them right!
