My story so far…
Hi my name is Tato (named after a potato because apparently I was potato shaped)
I came into the sanctuary a few months ago as a stray rescued off the streets. I was entire and not microchipped. I was being fed by numerous people in a neighbourhood for many many months. This caused me to become overweight. I am a greedy boy and will eat anything! Since coming to the sanctuary I have lost just over 1kg in weight and I look so much healthier! I now get two meals a day and treats in moderation!
My main carer describes me as a true character with different sides! I have a very sweet loving nature but I can also be a bit naughty too. I have bitten my carer. This was caused by frustration/redirecting being in an isolation area with another cat (not in direct physical contact). I really do not like other cats and get very stressed around them. I now have my own seperate pen and space away from other cats so I am much more relaxed and happy. I can still be a bit temperamental at times mainly when I get overstimulated. I do love affection though and will come over and headbut you for loves! My carer has taught me how to sit nicely when Im getting a treat because I got over excited before and would grab but I have learnt this so quickly and I am now learning how to be more patient too! I have now also learnt to give paw for a treat too! I can be a vocal boy and like to make you very aware when I want something!
I really hope to find my forever home soon so I can enjoy my freedom again and be loved in a proper home of my own!
Home I am looking for…
I cannot live with children so require an adult only home with humans that have previous experience with cats and an understanding of cat behaviours.
I must be the only cat in my new home but I could possibly live with a cat friendly dog.
I do need to be able to have safe outdoor access after a settling in period of at least 8 weeks indoors. This is to make sure I am settled in my home and bonded with my new humans before being allowed out into the big world!
I would also be suited to live in a rural/ farm setting too with someone that lives on site so I still have some human interaction and all the care I would need.
I will need my new home to be well away from any main/busy roads and railway lines for my own safety.
Home and Road/environmental checks apply.
(Applicants will ONLY be contacted if you are a suitable match. Please be aware we complete our rehoming checks prior to arranging any meets)
If you think you could offer me the home I need, please fill out an Adoption Enquiry Form. Please make sure you have read about all of my needs and our adoption policies before applying.
Forms lacking in detail or with questions unanswered may not be considered, we need to ensure we are matching our cats to the right home for them.
